Courtesy visit of Professor Shraddha Phansalkar at UTM

Professor Shraddha Phansalkar, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at MIT ADT University, Pune India paid a courtesy visit to the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) on Monday 27th January 2025. She is currently in Mauritius to complete her series of lectures with the first batch of students of the MSc Blockchain Technologies and Business Applications programme. The latter is funded under the Skills Development Support Programme for Artificial Intelligence (AI) by the HRDC.
The visit was attended by key officials from UTM, including Director General of UTM, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram, Deputy Director General Professor Kavi Kumar Khedo, and academics from the School of Innovative Technologies and Engineering (SITE), Dr. Clarel Catherine and Dr. Sandhya Armoogum.
The primary focus of the visit was to explore potential areas for future collaboration between the two universities, particularly in the areas of Blockchain and FinTech. Discussions centered around potential avenues for academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and the possibility of developing collaborative short programmes.
