This November 2024 saw the finals of the first edition of the Raj Hemansing Prayag Award Competition, which consists of a cash prize of MUR 50,000 and a Gold Medal offered to the best student of the School of Innovative Technologies and Engineering (SITE) at the University of Technology, Mauritius.
The award is meant to recognize and reward the best student for his/her academic achievement and more importantly for the innovative nature of the applied research undertaken, leading to a potential entrepreneurial/commercial venture.
The finalists for this first edition were Alexandre Chloé, Goodesen Mootoosamy, Amiran Arshaad, Homeshlall Persand Ramrecha and Prishnee Seegoolam. Congratulations to Prishnee Seegoolam, our grand winner!
Heartfelt appreciation to our Jury members for their support and dedication throughout the competition: Dr Gautam Tendulkar from IEM Mauritius, Mrs Jenny Chan from Business Mauritius and Mrs Suneha Auckloo from SME Mauritius
We also thank the UTM Management, the Admin team as well as the IT team for their help and support!
The competition is set to run every semester for at least 5 years, and represent an incentive to encourage students of the School to come forward with innovative solutions when embarking on the final year projects.
