A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday, 11th March 2025 between the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) and the University of Toamasina. The overall objective was to explore potential collaborations between the two institutions.

Distinguished guests attending the event included a delegation from Toamasina University, Professor Diny Razanakolona, the president of University of Toamasina, Mrs Pierre Ep Feno Caroline Solange and Mr Boda Narison Richard, Vice-Presidents of Toamasina University, Dr Rakotonirina Soamampionona Florence, Director of Cabinet of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Mr. Navindsing Jugmohunsing, PS Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research and President of the Board of Governors of UTM, UTM Director Dr Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram, Deputy Director of UTM, Professor Kavi Kumar Khedo, Registrar, Miss Nikita Peeroo, Head of Schools, lecturers and assistant registrars.

Dr Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram highlighted that this partnership will offer new opportunities to our students and researchers through academic exchanges, joint research projects and the sharing of best teaching practices.
