The University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) participated in the Mauritius-Africa Scholarship Awardees’ Get-Together 2025 held at Tamassa Resort on 15th February 2025, joining 78 scholars from across the continent.

The event also brought together dedicated faculty from Mauritius’ public higher education institutions – the University of Mauritius, Université des Mascareignes, Polytechnics Mauritius and officials from the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research and the Higher Education Commission. Prof. Kiran Bhujun, Director of Tertiary Education & Scientific Research opened the formal segment with an engaging welcome address, inspiring attendees with his vision of education’s transformative power.

Throughout the games, laughter filled the air, fostering natural connections and a palpable sense of camaraderie. The event concluded with strengthened friendships, academic aspirations were renewed, and the spirit of Pan-African collaboration was vibrantly reignited. This event underscored the importance of the Mauritius-Africa Scholarship Scheme, an annual initiative by the Government of Mauritius offering scholarships to African citizens, resident of countries member of the African Union.
