The University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) celebrated the 57th anniversary of the Mauritian Independence and 33rd anniversary of the Republic on Tuesday 11th March 2025. The celebration aimed to foster a sense of national pride and reflect on the nation’s journey since independence.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Navindsing Jugmohunsing, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research who is also the President of Board of Governors at UTM. The event was also comprised of the Director General of the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM), Dr. Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram, Deputy Director General of UTM, Professor Kavi Kumar Khedo, the Registrar of UTM, Miss Nikita Peeroo, Madagascar delegation of Toamasina University and staff of UTM.
Dr. Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram gave a brief overview of our Independence Day history, followed by Mr. Navindsing Jugmohunsing’s reading of the Prime Minister’s message.
